Guardian Group fulfills the dreams of 30 young stars

Guardian Group, the leading provider of insurance and financial solutions across the Caribbean has been a partner of the Caribbean Premier League since its inaugural year in 2013, supporting the hosting of one of the most celebrated tournaments in cricket, the Hero CPL T20 series throughout the Caribbean.

In 2015, Guardian Group took the excellent opportunity to give back to our communities by extending an invitation to young budding cricketers to have an exciting day with their stars. The 2014 finalists of the Herman Griffith Primary Schools Cricket competition – West Terrace Primary and Charles F. Broome Primary – got the opportunity to watch and interact with  their favourite heroes and 2014 CPL Champions, the Barbados Tridents.

These enthusiastic youngsters were able to watch the practice session of the Tridents, who were still basking in the triumph of their recent achievements in the tournament and very buoyant about their 2015 chances! The young cricketers accompanied by their coaches and teachers were treated to roundtrip transfers to Kensington Oval, where they were provided with Guardian Group branded items and refreshments.

In welcoming the students, Mr. Nigel Adams, Executive Manager, Guardian General, underscored the point that Guardian Group is committed to youthg development and sports and has strongly supported the development of cricket through the years. The 17 year sponsorship of the Herman Griffith competition stands as testimony to this commitment.

The young and enthusiastic cricketers relished the occasion to interact one on one with the players, acquire batting and bowling secrets as well as helpful tips on how to improve their own game. The Barbados Tridents also autographed their cricket gear but the most cherished activity of the day, was being able to go rough some paces with the players.

Guardian Group was truly pleased to be able to afford these students this opportunity which allowed them to have a closer insight on cricket and the personal attention of their mentors as they reach towards playing at the regional and international levels.
