Kerry-Ann continues to demonstrate her commitment to GGIL through her willingness to step up to the plate, going outside her regular duties to assist at the cashier’s desk, working beyond regular office hours and even sacrificing her vacation leave to ensure that the Accounts Department surpasses its productivity goals.  Kerry-Ann expressed humility in being awarded the Employee of the Year and stated, “It is always a wonderful feeling to be appreciated. I take every opportunity as a blessing from God. I love my job whole-heartedly but it is the people and the challenge that my job provides me that would top my list of reasons.”

The GGIL Leadership Award seeks to encourage managers to be excellent leaders and recognizes those who exemplify the company’s core values of integrity, trust, serving people and quality in their everyday interaction with staff and clients. It was further icing on the cake for the Accounts department, as Kerry-Ann’s manager, Accountant, Eurlinda Smith, was announced the winner of the award.

Eurlinda has been employed with GGIL for the past 25 years and has been a driving force in ensuring good work ethics and sound accounting management practices.  Her dedication to her job has been borne out in the efficient day to day operations of the Accounts Department, as well as in her oversight of GGIL’s adherence to statutory and legal compliance guidelines.

Eurlinda describes her leadership style as one that seeks to promote a motivated, team-oriented and highly productive work unit.  She attributes her achievements to the great examples set by other managers who have mentored her as well as her ability to take advantage of training opportunities to enhance her skills.
