A Guardian Holdings Director since March 1997, Arthur Lok Jack became Chairman in 2004. As one of the Caribbean region’s most dynamic and successful entrepreneurs, Arthur Lok Jack has grown his own business, Associated Brands Industries Limited, into a major enterprise regionally. Mr Lok Jack is Chairman of BWIA and the recipient of the Chaconia Gold Medal in August 2004, he has also been awarded the titles of Master Entrepreneur (Ernst & Young), Caribbean Luminary (UWI), and was bestowed a Doctor of Laws Degree (Hon) by the University of the West Indies, in recognition of his influence on Caribbean economic well being. In further recognition, in 2005 The University of the West Indies, Institute of Business was renamed The Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Peter Ganteaume has had a distinguished career in finance, accounting and audit since qualifying in June 1969 as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He was appointed CEO of Guardian Holdings Limited in July 1999 and served the company until 2006. Mr. Ganteaume is a former Executive Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers and has presented numerous papers on technical accounting and finance related subjects. He has also served as Chairman of the Accounting Standards Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago and as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad & Tobago. He has also been appointed by the Trinidad & Tobago Government to serve on Fiscal Review Committees.
Mr. Ravi Tewari has over 20 years experience in the life, health and pensions industry including over 12 years experience as a senior executive. As an Island Scholar of Fatima College he earned a First Class Honours Degree from Cass Business School, London. On his return to Trinidad he worked as a pensions and life-insurance consultant at Buck Consultants where he rose to be Head of Life Consulting. In this capacity he provided comprehensive actuarial services for four life insurance companies spanning Trinidad, Barbados and Guyana. He moved to Guardian Life in 1999 as Valuation Actuary and was soon made Appointed Actuary. In that capacity he was heavily involved in Guardian’s major acquisitions in Jamaica and the Dutch Caribbean that transformed Guardian Group from a Trinidadian insurer to a regional insurer. He was appointed President of Guardian Life in 2005 and in 2009 he was appointed Group President - Life, Health and Pensions where his mandate was to oversee the operations of all life companies in Guardian Group and to standardize, consolidate and synergize their operations.
On January 1, 2014, Mr. Tewari was appointed to the position of Group Chief Executive Officer. He also holds directorships on the Guardian Holdings Board and other Group subsidiaries’ Boards; Dunross Preparatory School Board, International Reinsurance Managers, LLC, Pink Hibiscus and the Advanced Cardiovascular Institute.
Mrs. Fé Lopez-Collymore is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the GHL Group based in Trinidad and Tobago. Admitted to practice as an attorney-at-law of the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago since 1981, she oversees the provision of corporate secretarial and legal services to the Group in addition to her function as Corporate Secretary. She is a member of the GHL Executive Board.
Mr. Imtiaz Ahamad joined the Guardian Holdings board in 2004. The CEO of Southern Sales and Service Company Limited also sits on the Boards of Automobile Sales Limited, CIC Insurance Brokers Limited and CIC Holdings Limited. He also sits on UWI Campus Council.
Mr. Dennis Cohen is the Group Finance and Deputy Managing Director of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited. He is the chairman of Advantage General Insurance Company Limited (AGIC) and Mutual Security Insurance Brokers Limited; a director of NCB Capital Markets Limited, NCB Insurance Company Limited, NCB (Cayman) Limited, NCB Global Finance Limited and West Indies Trust Company Limited. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ).
Mr. Richard Espinet was appointed a Director to the Board of Guardian Holdings Limited effective March 21, 2014. Mr. Espinet is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Guardian General Insurance Limited, an appointment he assumed on March 8, 2005. Mr. Espinet is also President of GHLs Caribbean Property and Casualty line of business and has served as a Board Member of the Property and Casualty subsidiaries of Guardian Group since 2005.
Mr. Philip Hamel-Smith joined the Guardian Holdings board in March 1997. An Attorney-at-Law, he is the Managing Partner of M. Hamel-Smith and Company. This former Trinidad & Tobago Senator, Mr. Hamel-Smith has served as Vice President of the Senate and is a member of the Law Association of Trinidad & Tobago, the St. Kitts & Nevis Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association and Law Society of the United Kingdom. Mr Hamel-Smith is also a Director of The American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad & Tobago.
Mr. Patrick Hylton is Group Managing Director of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited. He is chairman of NCB Capital Markets Limited, NCB Global Finance, Mona School of Business and Management and Harmonisation Limited. He sits on several boards including Massy Holdings Limited and the Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services (CariCRIS). He is a member of the Economic Oversight Committee that monitors the implementation of Jamaica’s programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Mr. Antony Lancaster brings to the Board nearly 50 years experience in the general insurance field, many of which were in the Caribbean and also a number of international jurisdictions and in particular the United Kingdom. Prior to his retirement he served as Chairman and Chief Executive of GAN insurances and the Groupama insurance companies in the UK. He joined the Guardian Holdings board in 2003.
Mr. Michael Lee-Chin is the Chairman of the board of directors of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited and the Chairman and President of Portland Holdings Inc.. He has over 32 years’ experience in financial services. Portland Holdings Inc. is a privately held investment company which manages public equity, private equity as well as having direct ownership interest in a collection of diversified businesses operating in sectors that include media, tourism, health care, telecommunications and financial services.
Mr. Lee-Chin holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the McMaster University in Canada and has received honorary Doctor of Laws degrees from McMaster University; the University of Toronto; The Northern Caribbean University Mandeville, Jamaica; the Wilfrid Laurier University School of Business & Economics, Waterloo, Canada; University of the West Indies and York University. He has received several prestigious awards in the areas of business and community service including the 2004 International Humanitarian Award from the American Friends of Jamaica.
Michael Lee-Chin was awarded the Order of Jamaica, for outstanding service in business and philanthropy, in October 2008.
Mr. Maxim Rochester B.Sc. (Accounting) Hons. FCA, FCCA, was appointed as a Director to the Board of Guardian Holdings Limited effective April 4, 2014.Mr. Rochester, a citizen and resident of Jamaica, has served as a Board Member of Guardian Life Limited, Guardian Groups Life Health and Pensions subsidiary in Jamaica, since 2012. He is a former Territory Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Jamaica, where he was responsible for the quality and delivery of audit of the financial statements of several companies, and brings with him invaluable expertise and experience in dealing with international and major domestic corporations and financial institutions.
Mr. Nicholas Lok Jack was appointed a Director of the Trinidad based operational subsidiaries of Guardian Group, in 2004, namely Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited, BancAssurance Caribbean Limited, Guardian General Insurance Limited, Guardian Group Trust Limited (formerly Guardian Asset Management Limited) and most recently Guardian Asset Management and Investment Services Limited.
Mr. Lok Jack is the Deputy Chairman/CEO of the Associated Brands Group of Companies. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, double major in Finance and Marketing as well as a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). He was appointed a director of the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturing Association in 2011 and became its youngest President in 2013 in which position he served until April, 2015.
