GUARDIAN GROUP CEO’S MESSAGE ON COVID 19

To our Guardian Group Community,

I would like to take a moment and connect with you directly as the Corona Virus (COVID-19) continues to impact our communities. Guardian Group remains committed to putting the health, safety and wellness of our staff, customers, partners, suppliers and all stakeholders as a priority. You are and continue to be at the heart of every decision.

We have been closely monitoring the updates and guidelines from our official local health authorities, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centre for Disease Control surrounding the COVID-19 in all the territories of domicile. As the situation unfolds we will proactively make adjustments to our response and inform you of these developments.

The Group has already implemented several measures to reduce risk and ensure safety. Here’s a quick summary :

  • We have established a Crisis Task Force which is responsible for the management of the Group’s response
  • We have developed a COVID-19 Monitoring and Response Framework aligned to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO)
  • We have identified jobs which can be adapted to telecommuting if our operations become impacted
  • We have increased the frequency of our cleaning programme at all offices, paying attention to frequently touched surfaces. Hand sanitizers throughout our offices  have been installed for both employees and clients, as well as the availability of gloves for employees who wish to wear them in the course of duty
  • We have restricted all non-essential travel for team members
  • We continue to review our business continuity plans to ensure that we safeguard against any potential risks and to ensure efficiency and business continuity
  • We have placed posters and notices throughout our offices on preventative care for the benefit of our clients, employees and the public
  • Our Health and Safety Team will continue to provide relevant, updated and accurate information to all employees, which are guided by official and established sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and the Health Ministry
  • We have established an intranet page, where all internal communication and updates are accessible and an email hotline for employee queries, questions and concerns.

I know many of you are concerned as there is much uncertainty on how this situation will evolve. While our offices are open to serve you, we recommend that all clients observe the directives and guidelines from the relevant authorities in avoiding close physical contact, practicing social distancing and performing the recommended  personal hygiene such as hand-washing .  You are also reminded that in addition to our physical locations, our various business units will be accessible through electronic service channels, which are available on our website at http://barbados.myguardiangroup.com/.
